The Kids Create the Music Foundation is currently cultivating funds for the implementation of the House Band program in more Northern Colorado middle schools. Our goal is to have the neccesary funds for the program to be operating in five middle schools for the 2010-2011 school year, including the continuation of the Kinard House Band. In addition to planned events and fundraisers, our prospective timeline is as follows:

January and February, 2010 – Create awareness for the Foundation and solicit interest from parents and schools.
March and April, 2010 – Continue fundraising and begin to finalize target schools for Fall, 2010.
May, 2010 – Announce which schools will be awarded funds for the implementation of the House Band program.
June, 2010 - Kinard House Band will perform at KISS FM’s Say Hello to Summer Bash, with national recording artists at Loveland’s Thunder Mountain Amphitheatre.
July, 2010 – Have the basic structure for each school’s new House Band in place with equipment and instructor so that auditions may begin for 2010-2011 school year.
August, 2010 - Program launch in five middle schools in Northern Colorado.

Guidelines and perks for parents and each school to consider with the implementation of the House Band program:

Clubs can not be created without Middle School Partnership.

Participating students must have knowledge of the instrument they will play in the band. This is not for beginners.

Program space is limited and spots will be earned through audition process if necessary.

Curriculum for each house band will be standardized.

Each member will be required to meet GPA requirements consistent with school guidelines for other clubs and athletics.

Basic equipment will be standardized and provided by Shaped Music and the KCTM Foundation.

Bands will meet on school property and adhere to all school policies.

Music will be suitable for all ages within categories determined by the KCTM Foundation.

Music Venues for outside shows will be suitable for all ages.

Instructors will be paid professionals, hired and approved by the KCTM Foundation.

House Bands from each school will compete with the other schools to earn points, awards and gigs.

The winner of a Battle of the House Bands will open KISS FM’s Say Hello to Summer Bash in June, 2011.
